New wings for Royal Flying Doctors Service

The Central Operations of the Royal Flying Doctor Service plans to modernize its aircraft fleet with five single-engine Pilatus PC-12 aircraft for delivery next year, to replace the five oldest PC-12s in the present fleet. The new aircraft will provide higher take-off weight and longer range than the original aircraft, which arrived in Australia from the Swiss manufacturer during 1995. Central Operations, which covers South Australia and much of the Northern Territory, brought its 11th PC-12 into service at the Alice Springs base last year. Operations manager, Barry Hocking said the latest 47E (new generation) version of the PC-12 would have improved performance, particularly increased take-off weight, which would enable extra fuel to be carried.

SeaPort Airlines to start Astoria service

The Port of Astoria Commission approved an air service revenue guarantee with SeaPort Airlines. Pending approval from the Newport City Council and review by the Oregon Department of Transportation, SeaPort will begin offering passenger flights from the coast to Portland will begin March 15. SeaPort has agreed to provide at least three nonstop flights every day in each direction between Astoria and Portland and at least two daily flights between Newport and Portland in nine-passenger Pilatus PC-12 planes. SeaPort will shuttle passengers arriving at Portland International Airport from the SeaPort terminal to the main terminal.

PC-12 for Air Idaho

Air Idaho will be adding a brand-new, top of the line PC-12 to its rescue team, enhancing the ability to transport patients farther and faster. The plane will be based at the Idaho Falls Airport to ensure rapid response for patients in need.

PlaneSmart adds PC-12 to its fleet

PlaneSmart! Aviation announced that it is adding the Pilatus PC-12 to its fleet of aircraft available to customers. The first of the new line-up of turboprops is scheduled to arrive in early 2Q 2009.
